On Saturday, 22nd November 2025, young environmental champion Karen Kimani celebrated her 13th birthday in a truly meaningful and inspiring way—honoring her journey in conservation, giving thanks, and continuing her mission to protect the planet.
A Blessing of Awards at Christ the King Catholic Church
To mark this important milestone, all the awards Karen has earned throughout her conservation work - dating back to when she was just six years old - were blessed during a special mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, Embakasi.
The mass was presided over by the Archbishop of the Nairobi Catholic Diocese, Bishop Philip Anyolo, who commended Karen’s dedication to environmental stewardship at such a young age.
The blessing symbolized not only gratitude for her achievements but also a prayerful foundation for the impactful work that lies ahead.

Tree Planting with Her Community
In keeping with her passion for nature, Karen led a tree-planting event in her estate, joined by her environmental club members, family, friends, and neighbors. The activity reflected her belief that climate action begins right where we live. Together, they planted seedlings that will one day stand as a living testament to her commitment to a greener Kenya.

Launch of the 50-Acre Karen Forte Forest Postponed
The highly anticipated launch of Karen’s 50-acre forest in Kirinyaga County, which was initially scheduled to coincide with her birthday celebrations, has been postponed to a later date. The new date will be communicated soon.
The Karen Forte Forest project is one of her most ambitious initiatives yet, envisioned to become a sanctuary for biodiversity, environmental education, and long-term conservation efforts.
