Today marked a special milestone for Karen at Rophine International School. In a colourful ceremony filled with excitement and celebration, she was officially inaugurated as the Cabinet Secretary for Environment. The atmosphere was electric, with students and teachers gathered to witness this important occasion.
This inauguration comes just weeks after Karen’s overwhelming election victory, where she secured 200 votes in her first year at the school. Now, with the next elections scheduled for September 2026, she has her eyes set firmly on the work ahead.

During her speech, Karen promised to give her very best in her new role. She reminded her fellow students of the commitments she made in her manifesto and her determination to fulfill them. Among her top priorities are:
- Launching an Environmental Club at Rophine to encourage active participation in conservation efforts.
- Inspiring her peers to engage more in national and global climate forums, where young voices matter most.
- Raising awareness on how schools can reduce their carbon footprint, including championing the bold idea of introducing electric school buses.
Karen’s vision is not just about holding a title – it’s about action. Her passion for the environment, combined with the trust of her fellow learners, sets the stage for meaningful change within her school community.
As she takes up this new responsibility, Karen’s journey continues to inspire
