In an event that brought together some of Kenya’s leading business minds and sustainability champions, environmentalist Karen Kimani delivered a powerful message during the Sasini PLC 2024 Sustainability Report Launch at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.

Addressing an audience of CEOs, corporate leaders and environmental advocates, Karen passionately shared her vision for building climate resilience among children and how the next generation must be empowered to lead the charge toward a greener future.

“Children should not only be taught about the climate crisis but they should be equipped to lead solutions,” Karen said.

As part of her long-term strategy, Karen unveiled one of her most ambitious initiatives yet, the development of a 50-acre demonstrational model forest. This living project is designed to serve as a training ground, learning space and reforestation model that demonstrates how communities, especially youth, can take climate action into their own hands.

Her efforts and passion didn’t go unnoticed.

In a heartening show of support, Sasini PLC committed to collaborating with Karen by integrating their Digital Forest Concept into her growing Virtual Forest Campaign. This collaboration will allow supporters to track planted trees digitally while expanding outreach and engagement across Kenya and beyond.

“It’s encouraging to see corporates not just clapping from the sidelines but actively stepping in to support young leaders like Karen,” one attendee noted.

As the event concluded, it was clear that Karen’s message had resonated deeply with the audience, a reminder that age is no barrier to impact and that the fight for climate justice belongs to all generations.

Stay tuned as Karen’s journey continues to inspire action, innovation and hope for a sustainable future ‘one tree, one child and one dream at a time.’
